Prince Moritz (1521 - 1553) was the founder of oldest lane Dresdens in 1550. Till 1849 be called "Newe" respectively "Große Fischergasse" (big fisherman lane). Owing a new coin her name is "Münzgasse" (coin lane).
The ground plan Dresdens from 1849 recorded 13 houses. Three of them were pubs. The "Münzgasse" (coin lane) was destroyed in 1945. Hermann Kohlmann`s drawing show the extent of this disaster. On his picture you can see the coin lane in 1945 immediate after destruction. Below Brühl Terrace piled up the stones. You cant saw nothing from the popular subject. Only Ruins sent a reminder in direction sky.
In this time the international and varied offer from different cafes and restaurants do busy the Münzgasse.
